Pausanias
An Ancient Guide to Greece

By John S. Taylor

Pausanias

Pausanias, the Greek historian and traveller, lived and wrote around the second century AD.

This accessible and lively guide takes into account new academic perspectives on the life and writing of Pausanias, interweaving Pausanias’ travels with those of his successors since the eighteenth century.

Dr John S Taylor is the Head of Classics at Tonbridge School in Kent and also teaches on the JACT Greek Summer School at Byranston. He has written and edited a number of Greek language textbooks including “New Testament Greek: A Reader” (2002) and “Greek to GCSE” (2003).
