The Answers
1. What is an on-line catalogue and how does it work?
The on-line catalogue works in the same way as an ordinary catalogue - you can browse through the pages, not by turning them, but by clicking through the hyperlinks in each page. Hyperlinks are the pieces of text that are highlighted and underlined in blue. When you point your mouse at them, a hand appears. Clicking on these links takes you to another page in the web site, or to another place in the same page.
The catalogue has an author index, a title index and an index by subject. It also has a keyword search facility.
There are up to three levels of information about an individual title. The first link takes you to simple bibliographic information about the book - the publication date, the price, the format
(paperback:pb hardback:HB), the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) etc. If you follow the link called "click here for more information" (this doesn't exist for all titles) then you will access a page containing a resume of the title and its reviews. Beside some titles' bibliographic information, there is also a small image, outlined in blue. This is a small version of the book's cover. If you click on this image it will take you to a larger, more detailed picture of the cover. This will take longer to down-load.
A unique feature of on-line catalogues is the ability to order titles immediately. This is explained later.

2. How often is it updated?
The on-line catalogue is updated regularly. Bibliographic information is updated, new titles are added, reviews are copied onto the site and details of the book (including chapter headings and a resume) are made available as soon as they have been written. Selected book covers are also regularly added to the site.
Please email uepsales@ex.ac.uk if

3. How do I order a book? By clicking on the links beside the book's bibliographic information called "Order
PB" or "Order HB" you send the details of that edition to a shopping trolley, created by our distributor,
NBN International. If you want to add another title to your shopping trolley, you can return to the catalogue by clicking through the link called "Return to publisher". If you have completed your order and input your details, you follow the prompts to pay by either credit card or invoice. You may not be able to use the second option if you do not already have an account with
NBN. If you wish to check the status of your order, please email cservs@nbninternational.com

4. Is the ordering facility secure?
Yes. When paying by credit card your order is automatically placed using a secure order form. This means that, when transmitting the data (including your credit card number) via email, the data is encrypted to hinder it being read by unauthorised parties. While we cannot guarantee the security of the system, it is as secure as we can make it.

6. How long does it take?
The order itself is sent to our distributor's email address immediately. From here it
should be despatched within five working days, though it is usually sent even faster than this.

8. Can I order a book that isn't yet published?
