He has been described by Professor Amy Richlin (UCLA) as ‘the God-Emperor of Victorian Classics’. Patrick Leary is a historian based in Evanston, Illinois who has published widely on Victorian authorship and is currently in the last stage of completing a book on Punch for the University of Toronto Press; he is founder and manager of VICTORIA, the listserv for Victorian Studies.
